Reviews for LivingSpace Christchurch

LivingSpace Christchurch
  • Good, clean, central accomodation. Safe for the single, white-haired travelling brigade. I would advise you to take earplugs or go out to a night club though if you are staying on the nights the night clubs are open. Staff are helpful and courteous. I would recommend it. 5

  • Stayed overnight on a Sunday. Staff were great, the room was really nice for the price range, and the location is awesome. Recommended. 5

  • Great location, so central - right next to Sol Square and great shopping area. We had a room on the top floor, so had no issues with street or bar noise. Lovely clean room (we took the Premium Studio option) - only failing was the incredibly cold and pathetic shower that we experienced the next morning!! 5

  • Second to Saurabh Paranjape on housekeeping. LivingSpace is the only place so far that replenish consumerables (instant drinks and soaps) by housekeeping. The place is located opposite Christchurch central bus exchange which is really convenient for people using the Metrobus system to travel across town. Staff are really really friendly! Common area facilities are excellent (large kitchen, game room and studies). One drawback - noise from neighbouring bars and pubs at Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights stops me from sleeping until 3am in the morning... 5

  • Absolutely awful, which was unfortunate as the room was nice. It was so loud from the bars and clubs in the adjoining alley that we actually left at 3 AM and slept in our car. We requested a refund on our way out, but the front desk person who was nice enough had no power to refund our Visa so we had to wait to contact the Manager, who apologised, and said she will process the refund. 1

  • Friendly people and a cheap clean room in the center of town....but that bed was soooo hard. 5

  • I loved this place. I stayed in a 3 room apartment for 6 adults. I paid only NZD 190 which is affordable. The location was good because it is very near to the main road ie Colombo street and a few minutes walk to the cathedral square. The service was fantastic. I had a great time staying even though it was only 1 day. If I do come back to Christchurch, I would like to stay longer. Good work Livingspace!!! 5

  • We stayed here with two children for a kids weekend away. We were put in a corner front left room (looking at the building incase management want to sort this problem). The noise was extreme with smashing bottles outside etc not Living Spaces fault (but could have been avoided) but the main problem was with the rooms filling up with cigarette smoke from the bars directly down below. My niece and I found it difficult to sleep due to this. My niece on your return journey to Wellington the next day was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties (which she had never had before) from the conditions. Staff need to consider who they are bookiing in to what room. If you are booking young people eg people who would want to go out at night then put them in the front but common sense says put people with young children away from the main noise and especially the smoke. I have recently visited Chch again and chose to stay elsewhere although the facilities and closeness to town are goo 1
